Packaged foods start from manufacturer label data in USDA's Branded Foods database, plus products users add. Restaurant nutrition uses published information where available; estimates are labeled. Photo results are estimates. Real portions and preparation vary. Simple Macros focuses on calories and macros, rather than comprehensive vitamin/mineral tracking. USDA and restaurant references are data attribution, not endorsements. AI providers have their own plans, availability and privacy policies. The app is currently self-funded; see About for the current funding explanation. REPEATABLE REVIEW TASKS 1. Record date, app version, device, country and plan. Set up your own account. 2. Search a whole food. Check the portion, unit and source. 3. Scan a packaged food. Compare the entry with its label. Set the amount eaten. 4. Try a meal photo. Check ingredients and portions, correct and save. 5. Build a restaurant order. Change one ingredient and check nutrition and dates. 6. Connect a supported assistant. Log a meal, verify the same record in the app, then disconnect. Read-only access does not permit saving meals. 7. Describe limitations and failures alongside successful tasks. When comparing apps, use equivalent portions and record each plan. These are suggested tasks, not independent test results or a clinical validation protocol.
