A repeatable hands-on checklist

  1. Record the date, app version, device and country. Complete setup using your own account.
  2. Search for a whole food. Check the portion, unit and data source.
  3. Scan a packaged food and compare the values with the label in your hand. Change the amount and check the result.
  4. Try a meal photo, review the foods and portions, and document any correction. See the photo guide.
  5. Open Flower Child or another supported restaurant, change an ingredient and check the nutrition and source dates. Distinguish published values from estimates.
  6. Connect an assistant, log a meal, verify the same record in the app, and disconnect. ChatGPT walkthrough · Claude walkthrough.
  7. Describe what worked, what failed and who the app suits. If comparing another app, use equivalent portions and record the plan.

Facts and limitations to keep in view

Photo results are estimates. Restaurant portions and preparation vary; some restaurant nutrition is estimated and labeled. Packaged foods include entries added by users. Simple Macros focuses on calories and macros rather than comprehensive vitamin and mineral tracking. USDA and restaurant names identify data sources, not endorsements.
